Our Core Environmental Policy:

 

At MDS Renewables Ltd, we promote the efficient use of the world’s resources. Although we recognise that our day-to-day operations will inevitably have an impact on the environment, we wish to minimise the potential harmful effects of our activity where possible.

Part of our continuing drive for quality in our activities, we have developed this comprehensive policy statement. This will enable us to monitor our drive to achieve these targets and which can be measured on a regular basis.

In this way we aim to protect the health and safety of our employees and our customers whilst contributing to the future wellbeing of our planet. We have undertaken to help every employee to understand and implement the relevant aspects of this policy in their day to day work through the regular communication of objectives, action plans and achievements.

  1. Offering our clients performance targets on a specific basis that encompasses a strict adherence to best practice, whilst benefiting the environment.
  2. MDS are constantly striving to improve the impact of our activities to the environment whilst installing Solar PV units.
  3. MDS will look to promote on an on-going basis, alternative disposal methods including that of waste minimisation and recycling.
  4. Our goals are to strike a balance between economic viability within business and environmental wellbeing.
  5. MDS look to stay ahead of current and on-going changes within legislation that have an impact on the environment, as well as to maintain strong communication links with our customers regarding potential hazards for new or on-going activities and the associated risks.
  6. MDS expect all associated contractors and partners to share the same enthusiasm and commitment to the environment as we do.
  7. To ensure that we maintain, on the behalf of our customers, all the necessary environmental obligations required by law, making available the resources to continually fulfil our promises.
  8. To create and promote an open culture with all our employees and associated contractors to contribute to the on-going development of our policy and our customers goals.

Our core Waste Management policy:

 

As Directors, we have accepted the specific responsibility for policy development and authorised the co-ordination and evaluation of the performance of our environmental programme. We are committed to minimising the impact of our operations on the environment by means of continuous improvement. In particular MDS Ltd will:

  1. Meet and aim to exceed the requirements of current and future relevant legislation.
  2. Seek to use energy saving materials in all operations, re-use rather than dispose whenever possible and promote recycling and the use of recycled materials where possible.
  3. Reduce where possible the level of harmful emissions from our qeuipment & vehicles.
  4. Market products that are safe to use and fit for the purpose and conform to all applicable environmental and other legislation.
  5. Work with and monitor our suppliers to minimise the impact of their operations on the environment through our quality purchasing policy which includes related human rights, moral and ethical issues relative to the country in which they operate.
  6. Support our local council in environmental issues.
  7. Include all environmental issues in all programmed meetings i.e. staff reviews, discussions with our customers and suppliers, our training programmes and employee teams and encourage the implementation of sound environmental practices with all interested parties.
  8. This environmental policy is communicated at all levels within MDS Renewables Ltd and confirms the commitment of our Staff, Partners & Sub-contractors to continued improvement in our Environment programme.
